Storey Wertheimer

I’m Storey Wertheimer, a multimedia journalist at NBC Nightly News, where I pitch, report, field produce, and edit original stories for national broadcast. Previously, I worked on NBC’s National Network Desk, where I helped lead newsgathering efforts across the network and wrote daily digital stories for NBCNews.com.

Before joining NBC, I covered investigations, politics, criminal justice, courts, and breaking news for The 9th Street Journal and INDY Week in North Carolina. I was also a fellow with the POLITICO Journalism Institute and interned at Dateline NBC, where I served as an assistant producer on multiple episodes.

I graduated magna cum laude and with distinction from Duke University in 2025 with a B.A. in International Studies and minors in English and Journalism & Media Studies. My investigation into deteriorating conditions in Durham public schools earned the Melcher Award for Excellence in Journalism, recognizing the best piece of journalism produced at Duke.
